Cabernet Merlot is a very popular red blend, and with good reason! The Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and body, and the Merlot contributes fruity flavours and smooths out the wine. It’s a match made in heaven!

This wine features notes of ripe cherry, plum, chocolate, and supple tannin.

California is one of the most important wine regions. If it were a country, it would be the fourth largest wine producer worldwide. Californian wines are characterized by their fruit-forwardness due to the reliably warm weather.

In terms of food pairings, you generally want something fatty to cut through the tannins of this wine. Ribeye, sirloin, or a classic burger and fries are excellent choices. Not a big meat-eater? Portabello mushrooms with lots of butter will make a good Cab Merlot shine. Hard cheeses like aged cheddar or gouda are great options too. This wine is versatile enough to use with many sweet desserts too.
