Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic. It’s hugely popular for a reason; it’s complex, flavourful, and absolutely delicious. A great choice for those who drink reds with food, since it pairs with a wide variety of dishes.

This wine features notes of black plum, white pepper, toasted cedar, and finishes with powerful tannins.

First drawing international attention for its famous fruit-forward Shiraz, Australia has since garnered a reputation as a nuanced producer of a wide range of wines in a variety of styles. Generally speaking, the wines are bold, fruity, and full-flavoured.

In terms of food pairings, think barbecue. Ribeye, sirloin, or a classic burger and fries are excellent choices. Not a big meat-eater? Portabello mushrooms with lots of butter will make a good Cab shine. Hard cheeses like aged cheddar or gouda are great options too.
